Listening sessions

A listening session is an evening where people actually meet. A small circle around the Entity, one song each, complete silence while it plays, and then the story behind it. Every session leaves a tape: the songs that were played and the stories that were told that night. Those tapes are below.

Each tape holds one evening: its songs in the order they were played, and the stories that came with them.

The first tapes are being pressed.

Upcoming sessions

New dates are coming. Leave a note below to hear about them first.

What to expect

  1. 01 Gather

A small circle around the Entity, a rotating light-and-sound sculpture.

  2. 02 Choose

Everyone picks one song that holds a story for them.

  3. 03 Listen

Everyone listens together, in silence, while the music fills the room.

  4. 04 Tell

You record the memory behind your song. It joins the archive.

  • A living room in pink and orange light, a dozen people sitting on sofas, chairs and the floor, listening.
  • Three people on a sofa in pink light, one of them talking with her hands, the others smiling.
  • People sitting in the grass on a mountain pass around the Entity, its white horn speakers in the foreground.
  • A circle of around fifteen people beside a stone mountain hut, with a rocky peak behind them.

Bring the Entity to your space

The Entity travels: to music bars, festivals and independent spaces. If a listening session would fit your place, describe it here.
